Nature of businessCarpe Diem Logistics Pty Ltd (CDL) was born out of a sister company namely Carpe Diem Coal SA Pty Ltd (CDC). CDL identified the need for a company to specialize in the design of cost effective supply chain management solutions specific to customer’s needs and requirements.
Bulk material handling and logistics is the formative area CDL is currently operating in and services offered customers include road, rail logistics and stockpile management at both the receiving and dispatch ends of the supply chain. CDL is contracted by CDC to control and manage all areas of logistics associated to supply of coal product to CDC customers and include management, tonnage reconciliations and control of all logistic aspects to provide product from the various coal mining operations within CDC.
CDL prides itself in being able to offer prospective customers a complete cost effective solution suited specifically to their logistics requirements.
Our focus on customer service and reliability of designed logistics solutions has allowed growth within the company that will ensure we are to become recognised player in the supply of Logistics to the SA market.

Supply chain management CDL presently control various supply chain management logistics solutions for Blue Chip companies within SA. CDL has the infrastructure and technology available to provide stringent monitoring systems that ensure timeous monthly reconciliations for payment. CDL also provides a 24/7 management style that is our hands-on trademark with zero tolerance for poor levels of performance and service. Our view is to establish long-term customer relationships as the core of our business operations and we believe this will motivate excellent delivery of the services we offer.
Road transportation CDL are able to offer various forms of road transportation service to customers, including flat bed, side tipper and back tipper trailer flexibility. All road logistics solutions are specifically designed to meet customer requirements and are planned, proposed and discussed prior to implementation for any customer so as to establish the exact costs attached to CDL providing the logistics service for the customer.
Rail transportation and railway siding loading and management controlCDL manage and control all aspects of loading to “free on rail” for coal customers. This service includes co-ordination with the rail logistics service provider, transport to the siding and any loading that may be required to provide this complete solution. CDL are fully capable of managing and controlling all aspects of loading any material or product to rail including providing all the administration, labour, plant, machinery and infrastructure that may be required to perform the service.
Materials handling – Bulk and Break bulkLogistics technology is constantly changing and CDL believe that we are able to alleviate heavy cost transfer to the end user by constantly improving on our service levels, transport capabilities, management expertise and financial planning.
